Antique German Shaving Mug & Brush Set

A beautiful glimpse into a bygone ritual of refinement.

This antique porcelain shaving mug, marked Leuchtenburg Germany, was made in Thuringia between 1890 and 1930—a period when morning grooming was both art and ceremony. The mug features raised scrollwork, delicate grape and leaf transfers in soft greens and russets, and the luminous glaze characteristic of fine German porcelain.

Paired with a vintage boar-bristle brush from the mid-20th century, this set bridges two eras of craftsmanship. The mug’s handle fits perfectly in the palm, and the subtle patina only adds to its charm. Display it in a gentleman’s bath, on a dresser, or as part of a barber-shop collection.
