Schafer & Vater Jasperware Ewer – Germany – Circa 1890–1910
German Jasperware-styles ewer by Schafer & Vater of Rudolstadt, crafted at the turn of the century and showcasing the elaborate artistry that made this firm one of Europe’s finest makers of relief pottery.
Finished in a deep olive matte bisque and layered with richly sculpted white relief, this piece combines romantic scenery, floral motifs, and an organic branch-handle—hallmarks of Schafer & Vater’s decorative style. The detailing is extraordinary: every leaf, petal, and architectural flourish rises crisply from the surface, giving the ewer a sculptural presence.
Impressed with the original mold number on the base, as was typical of the Rudolstadt workshops between 1890 and 1910.
Note: damage to spout was non professionally repaired. Priced accordingly
A true statement piece—elegant, dramatic, and perfectly suited for display on a mantel, bookcase, or in a curated collection of European art pottery.
