Set 8 1950s Royal Moselle Rambler Rose Wheel-Cut Champagne Coup
Set of 8 Vintage Royal Moselle Rambler Rose Wheel-Cut Champagne Coupe
Circa 1957 | Made in Cold War-era West Germany
An exceptionally graceful piece of mid-century European stemware, this vintage champagne coupe was produced for Royal Moselle in the beautifully detailed Rambler Rose pattern.
Two elaborate clusters of roses and foliage are individually wheel-cut by hand into the delicate clear crystal, creating a softly frosted design with considerably more dimension and craftsmanship than ordinary acid-etched decoration. A smaller floral spray rests beneath the roses, completing the garden-inspired composition.
The broad, shallow bowl was originally cataloged as a champagne coup although it is equally lovely for craft cocktails, sparkling wine, desserts, or display in a vintage bar collection.
The glass stands on a long, slender stem with an elegant shaped collar beneath the bowl and a broad circular foot. These retains its original black-and-gold Royal Moselle — Germany foil label, an increasingly uncommon detail.
