Vintage Onyx Tea Set 2 Cups with Matching Saucers + 2 Extra Underplates
This is a true solid onyx tea set — carved from real stone, not molded or composite — and it shows the moment you lift a cup. The weight, the cool touch, and the natural translucence immediately set it apart from ordinary tableware.
Onyx pieces like this were made in the mid-20th century, when craftsmanship and material still mattered. Each cup and saucer was individually cut and finished, which means the veining and color vary naturally from piece to piece. That variation is not a flaw; it’s the point. No two are exactly alike, and together they read as sculptural objects rather than mass-produced dishes.
The scroll-form metal handles on the cups add a refined, Old World note and required careful hand-fitting to stone. These are often loose or damaged on surviving examples; here, they remain intact and balanced, contributing to both beauty and usability.
Set includes: 2 cups and 4 saucer plates
Condition: Very good; one saucers has the smallest of chips on the underside of the rim.
