Cir. 1850s Victorian Rockingham Relief Teapot
Cir. 1850s Victorian Rockingham Relief Teapot
Some pieces don’t merely survive their century—they carry it with them.
This magnificent 1850s English Rockingham-glazed teapot is one of those rare objects that feels as though it still remembers the hands that shaped it, the fires that cured it, and the parlor rooms where it once served.
Richly draped in a deep, glossy chestnut glaze with a fully-relief molded scene of lady at a well surrounded by foliage on the body of the teapot.
This piece is complete, retaining its original lid, pour-perfect spout, and handle. The glaze is beautifully preserved, the relief still crisp, and the interior clean with only a small chip on the underside of the inside rim and repaired chip on the lid.
